HEROTOME is an upcoming urban fantasy visual novel where superheroes work as officially sanctioned, crime-fighting celebrities. The game will be on pc and free-to-play with both important choices, as well as some very stupid choices. Our romcom visual novel Trouble Comes Twice is now available for pre-orders on itchio! If you are interested in supporting us but not ready to pre-order yet, we’ve also got a Patreon where you can get access to a bunch of fun behind-the-scenes content and art previews (some of which won’t be shown anywhere else ever!). I think Katawa Shoujo has some of the best meaningful scenarios when it comes to h scenes, though the art style is a little unpolished, imo the majority of the characters are well written and their h scenes tend to develop those characters even more instead of being just some end goal. Bloom is an erotic yuri visual novel about a hopeless romantic who meets a jaded girl that doesn't believe in love. Will Lily adapt to this casual, no-strings-attached relationship with Eve? Or will she prove that true love isn't dead after all? The game features a heavy emphasis on erotic scenes,.

Some girls just play hard to get.

We've added a new, additional date scene for one of the characters. After we finish the outfits for this scene, all the sprite outfits will be completed! Here are some major asset updates that have been completed since the Beta Demo release back in February. They will be in the final game and final demo:

  • 28 new expressionsamong the 3 main characters.
  • 13 new outfits(not including poses) among the 3 main characters.
  • 13new high-definition CG scenes done by Ge-B
  • 4new original backgrounds done by Tan/Umagi
  • A new mystery character makes a short, interesting appearance.
  • New affinity points heart animation (now with chibis!)
  • More lesbian jokes about all the characters being gay, lil simps

We are collaborating with the music producer to come up with some original soundtracks (music can really make or break a steamy build-up, you feel?). My next goal will be implementing the gallery menu where the player can look back at all the CG scenes they've collected. I'm personally looking forward to this so I can gawk at how hot Winter and Cynthia are without rummaging through file explorer.

We've been extremely lucky and grateful to have some awesome friends well-versed in writing to help us with some editing and constructive criticism. Every comment they give, makes me fall more in love with Winter and Cynthia. My girlfriend's favorite is MC (I think she's projecting a bit).

First of all what is a Visual Novel? Simply an interactive novel we can visually see, end of! Is it considered game? Well yes because of it's 'interactiveness' and the perspective.

But yet the main purpose of these games is to leave a high emphasis of the story/plot. Even to make the player ambiguous of the ending as well. Depending on the Genre that is. I don't read books but visual novels do the trick for me.

Any who leading on-! So we have all got the gist of what a VN is. The setting and structure is common as seen below.

ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー

The main topic i will be talking about in this blog is the graphics. This will be split into three to understand their uses.

Characters

~Character (Sprite) + Background~

• This one is fairly obvious. You have the sprite usually in front of the background.

The sprite could change but using the same background and is usually a static image unless its some 3D game. Sprite and Background are separated from each other and is your bread and butter.

~CG/Special Full-Screen Image~

• CG abbreviated is Computer Graphic. Now your probably thinking BAKA NE! Of course its a computer graphic everything is! So why call it that? I guess you can call it some sort of recognised tradition within VN industry.

These are special full-screen static images. They are usually nice to see in a game and bring many reasons for one to occur. Some CG's may consist of two but with different facial emotions.

Another thing. CG's are usually listed within the title menu. If all have not been gathered then you might have missed a couple of scenarios.

One knows they have seen all possible scenes if they have acquired all CGs. But not every piece of text. Theres usually a list for this on the game, although some don't have!

~Movie/FMV~

• These are very common in Openings and Endings and maybe some scenes of a game where there is hype. This is found in all sorts of video games.
